If you are 16 or older and want to be a part of our volunteer team, give our Executive Director Kara Long a call at (541) 808-8295 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be glad you did!
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our Egyptian Theatre Preservation Association. Up until the recent hiring of our Executive Director, everything about our Theatre operations was accomplished by volunteers. These wonderful folks find meaning in their work through commitment to a great cause in the service of our community.
Our Egyptian Theatre is the Grande Dame of the South Coast, equal to any entertainment palace in Oregon in her day. Our Theatre is the best preserved Egyptian style theatre on the west coast, the repository of our memories, and stands as a statement about who we are and what we believe in. It is also just plain fun to be a part of it!
Whatever your skills, you can find an outlet for them at our community’s Egyptian Theatre home. My training is as an Electrical Engineer, and my experience is in running power plants…who would expect to find me as president of a group in charge of a historic movie palace?
We need folks with various skills – folks who can run our ticket booth, serve our patrons at our concessions stand, work as hosts at special Theatre events, help us communicate with our patrons, members and donors, those handy with a screw driver and hammer, and those “technically capable” who would enjoy learning to serve on one of our projection or sound system crews. So please, come on in! Become a part of our ongoing story.
