Denise Hunter

Denise was born and raised in Torrance, California. As an adult she was a great supporter of the arts in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. She worked in the motion picture/television industry for the first portion of her career for the likes of Steve McQueen, Ali MacGraw, Henry Winkler, The Brady Bunch, etc. and was mentored by the Academy Award winning costume designer: Milena Canonero prior to working in wardrobe at Western Costume House. In 1999 Denise was offered a position as Group Sales Manager for her Coquille Indian Tribe at The Mill Casino in the Marketing Dept., then she was promoted to Events Manager. Six years later she was hired as Activities, Events & P.R. Manager for the Coquille Tribe’s Administrative Headquarters and remained in that position until she retired in 2011. Denise is still actively involved with her tribe as she sits on a few of their Boards and occasionally helps out in the office at Headquarters and also the Coquille Economic Development Corp.

As a businesswoman her strengths are event planning, activity coordination and long-range planning. She understands the importance of “community” and believes the Egyptian plays a huge role in the vitality of the Coos Bay – North Bend area.
